The Pit Crew
Charlie Turner
“Charlie’s passion for all sorts of motor sports is evident when you listen to him talk. Unfortunately his thought process is usually stuck somewhere in the Dan Gurney era of the mid sixties, while the realities of the current world of NASCAR baffle him. Charlie is the more analytical of us however, and it really irritates me when he uses proven facts and statistics in an argument.” - Steve
Steve Wronkowicz
“I met Steve for the first time about 15 years ago. At the time, he had this radio thing going,on Bill Clark’s Saturday morning show, as the local Photography expert. Steve Wronkowicz, Mr. Camera! Now Steve has always been a passionate racing geek. He and I have spent many hours, in Steve’s basement shrine to Bill Elliot, telling each other how little we think of the each other’s opinions. But I have to admit that when it comes to NASCAR, Steve Wronkowicz sure knows his cameras.” - Charlie
BethAnne Heisler
Where would we be without BethAnne? She’s part field producer, part photographer and often the person who fixes those little - and sometimes, big - glitches that happen in live radio. More important is the fact that, if not for Beth, ON PIT ROW probably wouldn’t exist. Steve often sites the encouragement that she gave him when the opportunity to start this whole thing first came along. She’s also the only member of the Pit Crew who has done laps at Talladega in an angry stock car.
Matt Mercer
Matt was the first ever addition to The Pit Crew from outside the original group. Steve and I were looking for new talent that could add perspective to the content here at OnPitRow.com. Matt’s blog - TheCatfishShow - was one of the first racing blogs to grab my attention when we started OnPitRow.com and the Bench Racing with Steve and Charlie blog. Matt’s writing skill and his passion for the sport and its traditions impressed me. Growing up as close as he did to some of NASCAR’s great tracks - 20 minutes across the border from Martinsville and now living and studying minutes from Lowe’s Motor Speedway -must have had an effect. Matt likes to say that he brings a younger perspective to OnPitRow.com. He does much more than that.
Chris Leone
If OnPitRow.com was a NASCAR team, I’d be the development driver of the bunch. In the same way that young hotshots like Joey Logano have been driving since they were in grade school, I’ve been following and writing about all forms of motorsports since I was barely old enough to talk. I’ve been attending Cup Series races since 2000, and have pretty much made the sport my life. I hope to be with OnPitRow.com for years to come, following NASCAR’s development as I continue to develop as a writer. You can read more of my articles at the Bleacher Report.
Mindy Monday
Mindy is the face, voice and personality of Bench Racing TV. Her Monday Morning Crew Chief features were our first attempts at producing video. Mindy’s talent makes it work. Her patience with Steve and me is more than we deserve. And nobody makes me laugh more than Mindy.
