In the Chase to the One and Done Cup Everybody Plays
September 15, 2009
When NASCAR goes Chasing, one of only 12 can win the Sprint Cup. Not so at On Pit Row.
Our second free NASCAR fantasy game - the One and Done Race to the Chase just ended. And man, was it close. Going into the last race at Richmond, James Jones trailed cinemamap aka Mark, by just three points for first place. James took Mark Martin, a great pick since he finished fourth. But Mark showed why he has been the front runner for all but a couple of the last 13 weeks. He picked race winner Denny Hamlin, thank you very much.
Mark will have to make plans for a trip to Rockingham Speedway in North, Carolina for his Fast Track Driving School prize. Congratulations to all of the winners. We gave away 23 prizes during the One and Done Race to the Chase. For the actual Chase to the One and Done Cup, - our next game - we’re bumping the total up to 25. Stay tuned as we say on the radio. We’ll make the prize list public this week sometime.
You really should play. If you made a pick during the last game, you are automatically entered to play for the One and Done Cup. If you haven’t played the game, all you have to do is sign up here. It takes about 30 seconds and it’s free. Come on. Play the game!
One and Done Race to the Chase Prize List
July 2, 2009
The prize list for our second, free, NASCAR fantasy racing game of 2009 is complete. The One and Done Race to the Chase will reward the top ten finishers in total points with more terrific swag.
The One and Done game has been a big success for us here. A really nice community has built up around the game. I think there are a couple reasons for that. One - its just so simple to play. Pick one driver each week - not six or ten. No salary caps or different categories of drivers. It’s the perfect game for lazy fans like me. Two - it’s free and you can win cool stuff anyway.
Check out the prizes below.
- The grand prize is a Fast Track Driving School 2 hour Thunder Course at legendary Rockingham! Twelve laps at the Rock! How cool is that!
- Kyle Busch No. 18 M&Ms Camry “liquid color” 1/24th scale diecast
- No Fear Racing team hat and t-shirt (size mens XXL)
- “The Blount Report: NASCAR’s Most Overrated and Underrated Drivers, Cars, Teams, and Tracks” (Hardcover) book. Great read.
- Kurt Busch 1st Win 1/64th diecast hauler and Gillette Young Guns hat
- Martin Truex Jr signature Bass Pro Shops team hat
- “50 Years of ARCA” hardcover coffee table book and ARCA hat
- Denny Hamlin Fed Ex Racing checkers set
- Joe Gibbs - Toyota Racing t-shirt (size mens large)
- Kevin Harvick Shell Gasolines bobblehead.
In addition, every one of the top ten will get a copy of the Backstretch Boys great racing music CD - “Rookie Season”. And…every week the Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines player of the week will win a Kevin Harvick bobblehead.
Good luck.
One and Done Spring Thing NASCAR Fantasy Racing Winners
June 5, 2009
The Autism Speaks 400 Presented by Helluva Good at Dover was the final race of our first free NASCAR fantasy racing game of 2009. We called it the One and Done Spring Thing and we have winners! Lots of them in fact. Some of the randomly selected weekly winners already have their prizes. Those included $25 Shell Gasoline cards, Kevin Harvick Bobbleheads, great racing music CDs from the Backstretch Boys and “Idiots Guide to NASCAR” books.
In addition to the weekly prizes, the top ten finishers in points get rewarded too.
First prize was a Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure package and the winner usually has some travel decisions to make, since there are several tracks available to choose from. And sometimes, because of the travel, winners will pass on this prize. So we delay the announcement on the winners until we know who is going to accept the prize.
One and Done’r jlagg22 came from behind in the last race to finish first and he’s decided to go to Talladega for his Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure package. Nice.
Here are the other top nine finishers ( since Luke isn’t eligible, everyone from 6th place in points moved up a spot) and their prizes.
2. - txts14belle - Autographed Jamie McMurray Crown Royal team hat and embroidered Crown Royal team golf shirt (size mens medium)
3. - 24lovers - Denny Hamlin Limited Edition Memorial Day USMC 1/24th Scale Diecast from Fed Ex
4. - ltlredthree - Michael Waltrip No. 55 Hat and autographed Picture Card

Congratulations to the One and Done Spring Thing Winner!
June 1, 2009
On Pit Row’s first ever NASCAR fantasy game - the 13 race One and Done Spring Thing - is over.
Nice job by jlagg22 in coming from behind on the last race to grab first place and the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure package that goes with the win.
All in all, we doled out 23 prizes during the 13 race game. Not bad for a free NASCAR fantasy game. Game number two - The One and Done Race to the Chase starts this week with the Pocono 500. Prizes for the One and Done Race to the Chase will be announced later this week, but you won’t be disappointed.
Picks will open on Wednesday this week, giving us an extra day to switch things over. As always, picks will close at 4 PM ET Saturday. If you played the first game, you’re already entered for the next one. If you haven’t played - come on, what’s stopping you? This is the easiest NASCAR fantasy game on the planet!

hey kenseth - I said no snake eyes allowed!
The Las Vegas race was a real crap-shoot for fantasy players. Some favorites fell and others did just fine thanks. Ten races to go in the One and Done Spring Thing - the first of three games in the 2009 One and Done NASCAR fantasy racing game season. The Spring Thing will wind up with the race in Dover. We’ll pass out a passle of prizes at that point, reset the driver choices to the whole field and go at it for 13 more races in the second One and Done game of 2009. Check out the prize list for the One and Done Spring Thing below.
We’re giving away random weekly prizes too. So even if you feel you’re out of contention for the top ten - which you are NOT, BTW - you can still win stuff. And - the best part - it’s fun and it’s FREE!
So tell your friends to sign up. Maybe they’re feelin’ lucky.

race 4: hotlanta
Ten players had race winner Kyle Busch picked last week. Nice job. You must all be very astute observers of the sport. You could have gone for Matt Kenseth to win three in a row. Right Steve? One and Done tends to even the field though, since those of us - cough cough - who picked the Shrub last race, can’t use him at Atlanta, where he’s the defending race winner.
You can view all the results for One and Done week three here.
prizes for your picks
Here is the prize list for the One and Done Spring Thing
The player who finishes with the most points, and survives any tie-breakers will receive a Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure package, good at several NASCAR tracks, including Talladega Superspeedway. You can read the experience of one of our past winners at that track right here.
That’s a great prize, for any game. And second through tenth ain’t too shabby neither.
2nd - Autographed Jamie McMurray Crown Royal team hat and embroidered
Crown Royal team golf shirt (size mens medium) 3rd - Denny Hamlin Limited Edition Memorial Day USMC 1/24th Scale Diecast from Fed Ex 4th - Michael Waltrip No. 55 Hat and autographed Picture Card 5th - “50 Years of ARCA” Coffee Table Book and ARCA Hat 6th - Gillette Young Guns Hat and Golf Shirt (mens size large) 7th - Geico Racing Max Papis No 13 Hat and T-Shirt (mens size x large) 8th - Denny Hamlin “First Win T-shirt” (mens size large) from Fed Ex 9th - Crown Royal Dan Lowery 400 Roush Racing Hat 10th - Kevin Harvick Bobblehead from Shell Gasolines On Friday or Saturday I’ll announce the first three weekly winners, chosen randomly from One and Dunners who make a pick for that week’s race. Weekly winners will be determined by the ONPitRow.com random drawing method.

Every week we’ll ask a few folks from around the NASCAR internet community to share who they think would be a good pick for the next race.
Dustin Long NASCAR beat writer for the Landmark Newspapers told us ON PIT ROW last night that he thought Kyle Busch was the choice. Then he kind of switched up and started talking up Tony Stewart. I’m still not sure who he really thinks will win.
Church of the Great Oval’s Clance’ McClannahan thinks that stars are alligned for Matt Kenseth. “Matt’s aspects are all quite good, and his Sun is in the 10th House, which is the House of Profession and Standing. Matt has had this aspect in his chart in every race he has ever won.”
Monday Morning Crew Chief’s Mindy Monday thinks ” Dale Earnhardt Jr is going to win, ’cause he’s hot and wears Wranglers and Cowboy boots.”
I can just see Steve and the DieCast Dude rumaging for their old boots and blue jeans now.

are you gettin’ the hang of this yet?
Race one is done. Twelve to go in the One and Done Spring Thing - the first of three games in the 2009 One and Done seasons. This game goes through the race at Dover. We’ll pass out the prizes, cinch those belts back up and do it again for thirteen more races. We’ll hand out more prizes and then play the grand finale - the Chase for the One and Done Cup. So tell your friends to sign up. After all, you’re a veteran at this now. |

race 2: auto club 500
But nobody had the 500 winner Matt Kenseth. So the One and Done points leaders this week were the three players who chose Kevin Harvick. Nicely done. You can view all the results for One and Done week one here. next week: vegas baby
Lets talk prizes. You all should know that the winner of the One and Done Spring Thing will receive a Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure package, good at several NASCAR tracks, including Talladega Superspeedway. You can read the experience of one of our past winners at that track right here. The top ten finishers will win prizes in each game. I will have the details on those other prizes finalized this week. I think you’ll be happy with the possibilities. Stay tuned. We’re also considering having a weekly prize, so that new players or players who miss making a pick for whatever reason, will still have a chance to win something. If we do the weekly award, it will be determined via the random drawing method. |

Every week we’ll ask a few folks from around the NASCAR internet community to share who they think would be a good pick for the next race.
Fancy Clance’ of Church of the Great Oval sees Smoke in the future saying “I am calling Tony Stewart. His Astro-Aspects for the day are full of Uranus, Mars and Trines, which signify quick thinking, agression and balance in all.
OK. OnPitRow photo-jockey BethAnne likes Kyle Busch. “He won the Nationwide race last summer and the Truck race in the spring. His racing this year has been strong. The time is right for him to add the Cup race to his list.
NASCAR Bits’ Bruce thinks this is easy…”This is an easy one. Jimmy Johnson OWNS this track. With finishing positions of 1,2,1,3,11 & 2 in his last few races, they’ve got a top three locked up.”
The Catfish - Matt Mercer - likes AJ Allmendinger…”best to go ahead and ride the momentum of AJ’s 3rd place run at Daytona this week. ‘Dinger’s from the west coast, runs well on bigger tracks, and could very well contend for another top finish. He’s my pick of the week.”
Our Scottish Racer pal Bram likes McMurray. I think. “I like Jamie McMurray as a dark horse here..and something tells me to watch for the better finish from Allmendinger..seeking sponsorship after a humbling off-season tends to boost one’s abilities..if you get my drift.” |
BethAnne Does ‘Dega
February 10, 2009
A year ago on February 21st I attended the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure at Talladega Superspeedway. I won the 3 lap ride through our fantasy racing game and upgraded it to 6 lap drive.
Coming up on the anniversary of the event, I was looking fondly at the pictures taken and was surprised to see that
the instructors and counselors in the pictures all seemed to be as into working there as much as we enjoyed playing there. This realization added a new level of fun to the whole experience and I will always remember it fondly. As I said to one of my buddies yesterday, Yes, I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Mark Martin was the most popular pick in week one. Fully 17 players took the veteran. That front row starting position may have convinced some that Martin was the man finally, at Daytona. Lots of you liked Jeff Gordon too.
