NASCAR’s amphitheatre, Bristol Motor Speedway, is known for aggressive driving and carnage on the race track. However, the resurfacing in 2007 added variable banking, opening up room but dialed down the beating and banging. The SAFER barrier has been extended, narrowing Turns Two and Four by nearly three feet, so perhaps some of the physicality may return. This is the first race on a short track this season, so the results over the past few weeks on intermediates carry some momentum, but little else.

Wow, Ambrose isn’t even in your Top 8 B picks?
I have Newman, Dale Jr and Ambrose nearly rated the same. I have the slight edge to first two because they’ve had a lot more starts. I have Ambrose in my Y! lineup this week, took him as my dark horse pick and plugged him last night’s chat. The B group is really loaded this season and it’s tough to give everyone their due.
