- 25 races have been won from the pole (or first starting position). Kevin Harvick was the last driver to win from pole. Happy did it 7/3/2010.
- Bill Elliott is the active leader with 5 poles. Jeff Gordon leads active drivers with 6 career Daytona wins.
- Elliott is the top finisher with 15 top fives while Terry Labonte is still listed by NASCAR as the top active driver with 26 top tens.
- Trevor Bayne is the youngest ever Daytona winner. Bayne was 20 years, 0 months and 1 day old when he won the last years Daytona 500.
- Richard Petty won 10 times, had 28 top fives and 37 Daytona top tens.
- Daytona is one of two restrictor plate tracks on the circuit. Daytona and Talladega are grouped together as Super Speedway type tracks in the On Pit Row stats. Though both are plate tracks, they are not all that similar. Daytona is considered much more of a handling track than ‘Dega.
