We Done Crashed Like Robby Gordon in a China Shop
March 29, 2009
No offense Robby – I am a big fan – but I wanted to get someone’s attention.
Due to a crashed drive in our server arsenal, OnPitRow.com and as a result, the One and Done NASCAR fantasy Game, were offline for much of Saturday.
All is well now and service has been back for several hours. As a result of all this, we extended the deadline to make a pick for the game until 2 PM EDT today. That’s about as long as we can hold it folks. So, if you were waiting until after qualifying, to pick on Saturday – I understand this BTW – you can still do so now.
If, for any reason, you can’t get to a computer or have some other issue, call me at ***_***_**** before 1 PM EDT today, and I’ll make your pick for you. You will need your user name and password, so that I can access your dashboard. This phone number will self-destruct at 1:01 PM EDT.
NASCAR Video from Bristol and a Martinsville Preview
March 24, 2009
We have some great NASCAR video snippets from the post race press conferences with Kyle Busch, Jimmy Johnson and Denny Hamlin for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway and several pre-race preview comments from Clint Bowyer, Bobby Labonte, Kurt Busch and Jeff Burton. Click here to watch them all.
These vids might just help you make your One and Done fantasy racing pick this week for the big paperclip.
If you are thinking of doing any actual NASCAR betting you may be better served by finding actual NASCAR odds at a service that is involved in online wagering or something. We, most assuredly, are not.

short track time for the Sprint Cupsters
{!name} the next stop on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit and in the One and Done Spring Thing is Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol is unique and has been a track where the saying “horses for courses” could have been coined. Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace and Cale Yarborough each won nine races there. Darrell Waltrip 12. They had something figured out. The Busch brothers have won six of the last thirteen Bristol tilts – Kurt has six. Might be a pick there.
We announced the first four random weekly prize winners last week. So even if you feel you’re out of contention for the top ten – which you are NOT, BTW – you can still win stuff. And – the best part – it’s fun and it’s FREE!
So tell your friends to sign up. Maybe they’re feelin’ lucky.

race 5: thunder valley
Three players picked race winner Kurt Busch. Jimmy Johnson was the most popular choice though, and that didn’t work out too bad. But the One and Done format means that all of you who have used J J, Kyle, Carl and Jeffy in the first four races will have to get out of your comfort zone pretty soon Good luck. You can view all the results for One and Done week four here.

In case you missed it, here is the prize list for the One and Done Spring Thing.
The player who finishes with the most points, and survives any tie-breakers will receive a Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure package, good at several NASCAR tracks, including Talladega Superspeedway. You can read the experience of one of our past winners at that track right here. That’s a great prize, for any game. And second through tenth ain’t too shabby neither.

Every week we’ll ask a few folks from around the NASCAR internet community to share who they think would be a good pick for the next race.
Phil Tripp of One Lugnut Short. “How to win at Bristol? Unlike plate tracks where drivers need to miss the “big one”, winning at Bristol, a driver needs to miss 20 or so “little ones”.It is Kevin Harvick’s turn to dodge the bullet a couple dozen times Sunday afternoon and find his way to victory lane.”
MichganCircleTrack.com publisher Patrick McNamara is not just calling for a Kyle Busch win in the Sprint Cup race. Patrick predicts a weekend sweep by the Shrubster. Would you argue with someone named McNamara on St Patrick’s Day?
Fat Sandy Dirtburger of BlackFlaggedOnline.com: “I just got done picking my NCAA basketball bracket based on who was burning up the hardwood last time I watched a basketball game (sneak peak, I’ve got Arizona and Indiana in the Final Four) OK, someone just told me Indiana isn’t in the tournament this year, so I’ll go with Georgetown. I’m applying the same wisdom to the short track this weekend. You can’t go wrong with past winners Bill Elliot and Mark Martin. Tell them there’s an early bird special at the Bristol Waffle House and they’ll turn laps like malnourished lumberjacks. Or if you want a driver under age 50, go with Kurt Busch for a second week in a row. As always, you’re welcome.”

Play Rattles From the Catch Can II: Win The Blount Report
March 11, 2009

NASCAR picked a lousy week to take off. At least for me. I’m pretty sure the teams aren’t having any problem with it. But talking and writing and complaining about the Kingdom of France helps me keep my mind off of more serious issues. It can get a bit depressing out here in the world lately.
So I decided it was time for another quiz. A second, Rattles from the Catch Can quiz to be more descriptive. You can play it right here.
If you do play, leave your email address when you’re finished and we’ll put your name in the hat – or I guess the Catch Can would be more appropriate – and the winner will get a copy of Terry Blount’s new book, “The Blount Report”. Terry was a guest ON PIT ROW a couple weeks ago. The book is his take on the most underrated and overrated drivers, tracks, races and rules in NASCAR. I’ve read it. It will get your blood pumping, for sure.

March 10, 2009
It isn’t too late to sign up for the One and Done free NASCAR fantasy racing game from OnPitRow.com. Even if you missed the first four races of our first game of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, you can still be a winner.
Every week, we will select a player at random who will win a great prize, regardless of how well – or poorly – their actual driver did that week. All you have to do to be eligible, is be a registered player in the One and Done game, and make a pick for the race that week. Winners will be selected by the OnPitRow.com Random Drawing Method.
The prizes for the March races will be $25 gas cards, compliments of Shell Gasolines, and Shell’s Nitrogen Enriched Gasoline product. See more about Shell gasoline technology here.
With spring on its way, make sure to clean-up your car’s engine too. Top automakers who introduced top detergency standards agree that a clean engine can give you better fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and better performance. Shell Nitrogen Enriched continues to meet those standards.

hey kenseth – I said no snake eyes allowed!
The Las Vegas race was a real crap-shoot for fantasy players. Some favorites fell and others did just fine thanks. Ten races to go in the One and Done Spring Thing – the first of three games in the 2009 One and Done NASCAR fantasy racing game season. The Spring Thing will wind up with the race in Dover. We’ll pass out a passle of prizes at that point, reset the driver choices to the whole field and go at it for 13 more races in the second One and Done game of 2009. Check out the prize list for the One and Done Spring Thing below.
We’re giving away random weekly prizes too. So even if you feel you’re out of contention for the top ten – which you are NOT, BTW – you can still win stuff. And – the best part – it’s fun and it’s FREE!
So tell your friends to sign up. Maybe they’re feelin’ lucky.

race 4: hotlanta
Ten players had race winner Kyle Busch picked last week. Nice job. You must all be very astute observers of the sport. You could have gone for Matt Kenseth to win three in a row. Right Steve? One and Done tends to even the field though, since those of us – cough cough – who picked the Shrub last race, can’t use him at Atlanta, where he’s the defending race winner.
You can view all the results for One and Done week three here.

Every week we’ll ask a few folks from around the NASCAR internet community to share who they think would be a good pick for the next race.
Dustin Long NASCAR beat writer for the Landmark Newspapers told us ON PIT ROW last night that he thought Kyle Busch was the choice. Then he kind of switched up and started talking up Tony Stewart. I’m still not sure who he really thinks will win.
Church of the Great Oval’s Clance’ McClannahan thinks that stars are alligned for Matt Kenseth. “Matt’s aspects are all quite good, and his Sun is in the 10th House, which is the House of Profession and Standing. Matt has had this aspect in his chart in every race he has ever won.”
Monday Morning Crew Chief’s Mindy Monday thinks ” Dale Earnhardt Jr is going to win, ’cause he’s hot and wears Wranglers and Cowboy boots.”
I can just see Steve and the DieCast Dude rumaging for their old boots and blue jeans now.
